In Brainscape, and in life, you are never truly "finished" learning something. Your knowledge will eventually "decay" no matter how well you think you know it at the time.
Brainscape works best when you study in small doses, spread out over a long period of time. While Brainscape does most of the hard work by determining when to show each flashcard during a study session, you need to do the work to make time in your life for those small Brainscape study sessions.
Sometimes, you might be able to make time for a 2-hour study session, which is great if you have the stamina. Other times, you might only be able to squeeze in a 2-minute session.
We recommend that you stop a study session when one of the following things has happened:
- You already know most of the flashcards pretty well, and they are starting to get "easy";
- You have just been exposed to a ton of difficult new content, and you've rated many cards with a 1 or a 2 (low confidence); or Your head hurts and you need a break
To exit a study session, simply tap the Done button. [See also: The brain science behind why Brainscape helps you learn faster.]
