A lot of math text is already supported as regular text. For example:
x2 + 6y/7 = √y
But if you need more complex equation functionality, the simplest way to add equations to your flashcards is to create them using some more advanced equation editing software, take image screenshots, and upload these using the flashcard editor on the website. You can also learn how to add more complex editing into flashcards here.
In the future, we hope to build in equation editing functionality into our own platform.

Is there a roadmap for LaTeX or expression support?
You guys said in 2013 that it was in the works, it has been 7 years and still no progress.
Couldn't you implement expression parsing using KaTeX, client-side for the web client, and server-side for the mobile apps?
Hey Agustín,
We're hopeful that some big overhauls to the edit/create screens will be coming out this year. Please stay tuned! Also, if you want to be included in the beta versions please shoot us a message to support@brainscape.zendesk.com
Happy studying!

It has been literally over 8 years. It clearly didn't come out in 2019 either.
How can this be so difficult? I've been paying for Brainscape for over a decade, and I've seen almost no new functionality since. Is development active?
Hey Agustín,
I gave up on Brainscape ever adding this functionality and switched over to Anki (https://apps.ankiweb.net/), which you don't have to pay for, and has much more flexibility, including being able to import LaTeX files or directly type LaTeX equations in to the flashcards.
Hi Emily! I've used Anki and it's awesome, sadly, the flashcard library isn't as good as Brainscape's.
But yeah, it's time to jump ship.
I need this too. Can we get an update on what is happening?
