Any Class created in Brainscape is "public" by default. In practice, most Classes aren't really discoverable until they contain a substantial amount of content (since they wouldn't show up very high in Search results), but users could still find them using a specific search query or by finding your user Profile screen. The more you and your learners use Brainscape, the more discoverable your Class will become. The ability to make a class private is a Pro feature.
You can change this setting by navigating to the bottom Learners tab for a particular Class, and finding the option to "Make Private", or by updating this setting in the hamburger menu at the top. Making a Class private will prevent any existing users from seeing the content (without an invite), and will remove it from Search results (within 7-10 days).
You can make this change in the top hamburger menu by selecting 'Make Class Private' and then conversely, can make it public from this same menu. Additionally, if you scroll to the bottom of the Learners Tab, you can check the radio button to toggle to 'Private.
On the web, you can easily see if your class is Private or not because there will be an indication next to the class name in your library designating it as "Private", (see below).
In the mobile app, you can easily create a new class by clicking on the '+' icon from your class Dashboard. Once you've named the class, you can click on the options and select, "Make Class Private".
Please note that in order to study a private Class, a Brainscape Pro account is required for every user in the Class. To inquire about a bulk purchase of Brainscape Pro accounts at a huge discount, please contact us about an Enterprise license.
All private content is fully encrypted and protected so that you can rest assured that no hackers, spies, or evil-doers will be able to access it unless you securely invite them.

So even users who have purchased Brainscape Pro can't turn their class private and only invite specific people (that don't have Pro)? Why is it that only pro users can view private classes? This rule is annoying and unjust! Surely only the owner of the class should have to have pro!
Hi Bob! We appreciate your honest feedback.
Brainscape has made many more features free over the past months and we continue to look for opportunities to offer more premium features as part of our free product, but we need to keep the lights on around here. We've taken note of your concern and will keep looking at ways to do this for instructors without putting material at risk. In the meantime, our school license allows all your students to be able to study your private coursework. Thanks for understanding and hope you’ll continue Brainscaping with us!
Note: One of our support team will contact you directly for further assistance. You may also contact us directly via support@brainscape.zendesk.com.

This is outrageous! Shouldn't classes created in Brainscape be private by default instead of public? No one should have the right to see your classwork without your consent.
We understand what you mean, George. Unfortunately, pro will be required if you need to keep your content private, as we have a cost on the backend to maintain that privacy. Thanks for understanding.
