Is Brainscape private and secure?

Brainscape values your safety and security and make it our goal to collect and store the bare minimum private information in order for you to study in our tool.

Brainscape, your flashcards will be visible to the public.  We believe in creating an open marketplace of study materials and democratizing the world's access to great educational content (while still guaranteeing your security).  However, only the Admin of a class (class creator) can tap through to a Learner Profile, otherwise tapping the Learner does nothing.  Also, the last name of learners will be hidden for any non-admins studying in a class, and if you are studying a Brainscape Certified Class, only the first iniital of the last name is visible.

If you would like to create a fully private instance of Brainscape for your school or company, you can easily make your Class private. Only people whom you specifically invite will be able to access your flashcards, and only you -- the Class "admin" -- will be able to see students' study data.

Our site uses HTTPS secure login functionality, so none of your data would ever be visible to the outside world.  And when you and your users are syncing data between our website and mobile app, all server calls are encrypted via SSL and inaccessible to potential hackers.
