Having control over the alignment is good. I guess though Brainscape had a reason for making things more uniformed and ended with those optional fields.

The problem with homogenizing things is that the model chosen does not fit all needs and limits our ability to create usable and enjoyable cards.

There are just too many restrictions: font family, text size, text colors, text alignment, spacing, image format (SVG needed!!) and so on.

Personally, I'm in favor of letting people build their own card templates based on a builder that would consist in a library of elements made by Brainscape (such as page builders do for WordPress). This is the way to go if you want to reach mass market.

Yep i see your point and I agree. I do understand that based on there faqs with the new editor, they wanted to simplify the functionalities and to look nice on any screen or device. I remember with the old editor, I had different looks and had to adjust to make them uniformed. Overall though, flashcards for me should look simple and less text - it helps with my memory recall.

This whole "less text = better recall" is nonsense and I really wish Brainscape and others on this website would stop repeating this line.

I dont want to make 30,000 flashcards with 10 words on them each,  I want to put all the information on them that I need memorized for my exam.

I am in law school, not taking high school biology. I am expected to memorize large amounts of information on each small subset of issues within each topic/subject and it is not practical to put them on a bunch of different cards when all the information needs to be memorized together as one issue.
