Good news! The editor has a new functionality that a lot of users have been requesting - “drag and drop” function to make adding images and sounds to flashcards much easier. For more information about the new editor, please check out this article!

Thank you to ya'll for your awesome ideas and suggestions!

    - The export and import feature should be working together. For example, if I export, I should be able to import that same file correctly without issues. Import accepts 3 columns and consider the first the index, however the export functionality exports the index in the third column and not in the first.

Better design for creation and edition of cards. Current is good, but it's UX is not excellent.

Filtering cards by confidence rating. Some days I just want to do the ones who are rated 1 or 2.

Be able to bookmark cards on the website (not just in the iOS app) and be able to export bookmarked cards into a new separate deck

Being able to archive decks.I always end up deleting all my old decks once I’m done with them,I wish I could archive them instead.Print flashcards as lecture notes function would be cool too just for pro users like me hehe

Multiple sources in the "Supplemental Info" for decks

Ability to include some special characters such as ampersands

Functionality to edit cards and decks without a network connection. If I'm out of network range on my device I effectively can't create flashcards until I return to service. It's especially frustrating because my learning progress is saved and synced but I can't do the same with edits.

    Hi Courtney,

Long time no talk, so I'll start by wishing you a Happy New Year!

Below, I'll list all the requests I created in separate posts (you'll see that we've already discussed some of them together):

1/ SVG Support for Images: images do not pixelize, SVG files are much smaller than jpg/png (MUCH NEEDED)

2/ Put images where we want on each side: give us more power to customize the design of our flashcards. Also, an image is not always the main input or ouptut of a flashcard, and so we need to decide where to make it appear on the card (MUCH NEEDED)

3/ Have the option to not play automatically audio files: when audio is the main input or output of a card, you definitely want to play it automatically. But when it's a secondary info, you don't (MUCH NEEDED)

4/ Several audio files on each side of the card: very relevant when you want to provide additional information to the main information of a flashcard. For example: synonyms of a main word to learn vocabulary (MUCH NEEDED)

5/ First time shown: have a special mention on the front when a flashcard is shown for the first time to the learner (NICE TO HAVE and EASY TO ADD FOR YOU).

    1) The instructions for printing cards (in the help/faq section) simply do not work.  When I export the file the text portions are full of code which makes them too difficult to read, and the images disappear completely.  You need a simple feature that just lets users print to index cards.

    2) I don't want to review only 10 cards per session, and I don't want repeats within a session.  Don't force neurodiverse users to study in a way that's optimal for "most people" -- it doesn't work for everyone.

    3) I would like an option for digital flashcards with more than two "sides" -- if they're not on paper why can't there be 3-sided flashcards?  This would be incredibly useful in some subjects where you need to be able to identify things in different ways (ie there's an image, a term, and a definition, and on tests, you might be given any of the three and required to provide either of the other two)

It would be great to be able to edit a card from the study page. Adding that either to the menu on the top right for mobile, or something on the back/flipside of the card. I like to refine my definitions as I study and it would be much more convenient than going back into the card list and searching for the card I was just on.

1st If I could use these cards with someone in remote, so this person could evaluate me, and it was something like pair learning.

2nd Will you add some more studying tools to this service? for example, mind maps are also good for remembering or the ability to create a case study card with extended functionality for example series of cards with small tests inside, like grouping the terms under sub-subject.

3rd Observing view in the popup view is not a very good idea, since it has smaller font size and space for information in cards.

4th Transfering cards from one class/DECKS to another could be as nice to have a feature which can help easy management of cards

I would like to see a search function at the top of each class. I envisage that the search function would be able to search all the decks in the class by the title of the card.  This could save users a lot of time, when they need to access their notes/study cards.

It would also be great to be able to start studying from the current card. For example, when I'm editing a card and I want to study that card immediately, when I hit the study button, it seems to jump to a random card in the deck.

    Thanks

Please please please have an option where every time a new blue (level 5) card is selected, it's chosen from a _random_ point in the deck.

I have a vocabulary deck with about 700 cards in it.  I've studied it to the point where all the cards are at 5 (100 percent).

Now, I have to sit through the same 150 cards that I know off by heart already before it starts giving me new ones from later in the deck, which are the ones I really need to be revising.

I would like to import multiple times to the same deck from csv.  For example, after a week or two of class, I have 25 flashcards which I import.  Then after another week or two, in the same chapter of study, I have another 25 flashcards.  I would like to keep uploading and appending imports to a deck until I have a logical group that is 75-100 cards, without losing my or other students' progress.  Number of cards doesn't matter, just added for visualization of the request my current real-life situation.  (In true real life, I don't create a deck for too long so that I can get a logical group together, when I should have started studying already, and then when I have the next group I avoid it because I don't want to enter them manually, and I don't want decks that are too small.)

I would like there to be an audible prompt instead of a visual prompt.  My purpose is for practicing spelling, but I think it would be helpful for language learning too.   Hate to refer to a competitor that starts with a Q but we have to go there and use their spelling feature (don't need all the games!), though I prefer Brainscape for everything else of course and miss the Brainscape features when I'm there.  However, what is needed is for the word to be read audibly (please incorporate - don't want to record them all myself!) and let you type it in (if that can't be managed, could just flip - just need to not SEE the word).  Also when we see the word, need to see the word and definition, but sometimes the definition has the word or a root in it, so don't want to use the definition/sentence side as the prompt.

(FYI I upvoted the 3-sided card request, which might work here too.  This one could be accomplished with one of the three sides being "audible" but you'd have to select it, not randomize it for spelling. For language learning, also helpful to have audio.  Also, particularly for Chinese, to have pinyin (or audio)-English-Mandarin as the three you have to relate, rather than duplicating the decks to get all relationships.)

To reverse questions for answers. Very useful when learning foreign words!

I read that this works in iOS, but I cannot find it anywhere.

Add Left/Center/Right justify and Font options to Bulk Edit Menu.

Even after the latest update where the hard carriage returns were compensated for, the cards are still centered or left-justified seemingly randomly.

I would like the option to have the app remind students at a certain time each day to study 10 words. So that they could choose a setting that would automatically bring up 10 words from their chosen deck to review that day.

We would like to have the option to remind mobile app users to log into the app to review their flashcards.

The frequency (date and time) of the reminder and the message to be displayed would be set by ourselves.

And if a user logs in the day the notification is to be sent but BEFORE it is sent, the notification would be cancelled (for that day only).

Since the app doesn't automatically present cards in both directions (like any repetition based learning app absolutely should and practically all the others do!) it's necessary for course creators to duplicate each deck with the cards reversed in the copy. There is no way to do this easily. You have to duplicate a deck. Then duplicate all the cards while reversing them. Then you have to delete all the originals that you copied from. Why not just make it possible to reverse the cards without duplicating them? I've emailed to ask for this several times over the past four years, and each time get a response saying they will consider doing it or it's an upcoming feature. But it never happens.
Pro tip: To save having to select and delete all the cards one by one, open your deck in a duplicate tab in your browser before you duplicate+reverse them. In one tab do the duplication. In the other tab do a select all (of the original cards) and delete in bulk.

I would like to be able to upload a whole deck of questions (100 or more) at a time with specific formatting or or photos.
I often get test banks that are multiple choice, some of which have pictures and they all have specific formatting (with the questions and answers appearing on separate lines).  A CSV file is good for single word or single line questions but a multiple choice question will have at least 5 or 6 lines (depending on the number of choices).

    For example:
According to the training document on Building Construction Materials and Building Collapse, steel I beams will elongate when heated and can push out a load-bearing walls. A 50-foot (15.2m) beam may elongate by as much as ___ inches/mm when heated to about 1,000 degrees F (538 degrees C):

    A) 2 inches (50.8 mm)
    B) 4 inches (102 mm)
    C) 8 inches (203.2 mm)
    D) 11 inches (279.4 mm)

    (Answer B: TS 3-4a)

Even this input form has a basic text/paragraph function.  Perhaps a "copy and paste" function that will accommodate a two columned table would be sufficient.  Or even if the "copy and paste" of images/screenshots into a front and back of each card would be great!

    Thanks!

I would really like to be able to organize my decks into folders. This would make my classes way less chaotic and I would be more willing to create more decks. I would also like a setting where you could make classes that you haven't studied for a while "deteriorate" so I know which ones to study.

1.) Ability to archive decks that are not in use. I have some decks that people have saved (that I do not know, and would love to share them if they would be helpful for someone, but in order to keep my classes area clean I delete the decks when the semesters over. If there was a way to organize in folders/ archive so others can still access that would be awesome.

2.) I also think the dark theme idea is a fantastic idea.

The ability to drop pictures directly into the text box / body of the question would be great as well, instead of having to "attach" a file.

It would be sweet if you could organize classes easier instead of just in alphabetical order. This could include folders, tags, and custom ordering.
