Yes, you may reverse Question and Answer (Study in Reverse) on your flashcards, so you can study in the opposite direction. Depending on whether you are studying on the web or the mobile apps, there are two different ways you can do this.
On the Web:
If you'd like to create permanent reverse flashcards (i.e. add new, separate flashcards that ask the question in the opposite direction), then you can do the following on the web:
-
-
From the Dashboard, go to the Deck you'd like to edit the Deck to Edit and click on the pencil icon next to a deck title
-
To edit, be sure you're in the Edit tab (and not preview or browse)
-
On the left (you may need to expand the window), if you want to select the cards for which you'd like to create Reverse versions (otherwise the reverse action will be applied to the whole deck)
-
In the Bulk Actions drop-down menu, select "Reverse Cards"
- You may create a special prompt for these reversed cards
-
Those new cards will be added to the end of your Deck
-
Sync and you will have reverse cards in the app
-
In the Mobile Apps:
- Tap on the class you wish to study
- Click Study button or begin studying a class
- The options icon should be visible in the corner of your screen
- From the drop down tap on the “Study in Reverse” button

Just subscribed to be able to reverse existing decks from others. Is there anyway to do it?
Hey Michael,
You'll need to first make a copy of the class so that you'll be able to access the edit screen. You may find this article below helpful.
How do I copy another user's flashcards to edit on my own?
Hope this helps,
Courtney@Brainscape
Hi... Lack of this feature for my Android devices is the only reason I haven't upgraded. The decks become tedious pretty quickly without it.
This seems like a very basic feature. I'm really disappointed that this function isn't supported (apart from the very clunky work around).
I would like to emphasize how important I think it is to be able to quickly and easily reverse cards. This was possible in the old version of the app, and is something essential to my usage of Brainscape. Please add this function in the mobile and desktop versions of Brainscape as soon as realistically possible.
I would like to add my name to the growing number of people who request this functionality. It should not be a particularly challenging task to exchange two values in the program's back end and it would make the program more useful many times over.
long long time ago....
PUSH !!!
reverse changes the order of the cards and is not a swap. Where is the "swap" feature?
SQL code:
SET column1 = column, column2 = column1;
